Curator of the exhibition
The Invest Art Premiere presents a selection of study classes by Gunter Damisch, Professor of Graphics and Print Techniques at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna. On display will be works from former graduates and current students. The exhibition gives an insight into the creations of young artists whose works, with few exceptions, have the starting point of their creative analysis in drawing and pencil strokes. Concentrating on this method of working and its partial implementation in printing processes is seen as a valuable creative potential within the world of fine arts. From there, the artistic development lines lead to all areas of human design. In contrast is the colourful image world of Gunter Damisch, with his network of drawings and meshed lines, which he sees as the central vestige of human consciousness.
The exhibition runs until June 27, 2008. Entry is free.

Artist
In his paintings, Gunter Damisch (born in Steyr in 1958), combines the worlds of the macro and microcosm with two image elements: areas of colour drawn together to produce an insular form and the meandering line. Both are spread out across the image with ornamental order, isolated or combined with figurations, which remain scriptural in their legibility.

How are decisions regarding economic policies made? What influences are the decision-makers exposed to and how should an efficient decision-making system be structured?
These and other questions are dealt with by the survey “Stärken und Schwächen des wirtschaftspolitischen Entscheidungssystems” (advantages and disadvantages of the decision-making system on economic policy), which was compiled by the Institute for Industrial Research with the support of the Austrian National Bank’s “Jubiläum” fund. In addition to theoretical models, international experiences with political consulting are examined and substantiated by means of a survey among German-speaking economists.
The aim of the event is to discuss the most important results of the survey

1940 Born in Zwettl, Lower Austria, Linde Waber studied at the Academy of Fine Art, Vienna in the master class for graphic art under Prof Maximilian Melcher and Prof Christian Ludwig Martin.
1964 graduated as 'Academic Painter and Graphic Artist' she went for study trips to France, Italy, England, Brazil, Japan, Africa and China.
In Japan she studied colored woodcutting. Etchings, Oil paintings and the designing glass windows are also part of the manifold fields of activity of the artist.

The 50th anniversary of Investkredit Bank AG is reflected by the exhibition “5 plus 5 artists from 5 decades”. Through various forms of media, it provides an impressive insight into the world of present-day contemporary art in Austria.
This time, the discourses by professors and students from art colleges have been extended: five well-known artists from different generations have been invited to each nominate one young colleague to participate in the exhibition.
In this way, the young, up-and-coming generation will be brought face to face with an already established generation of artists. The main focus of attention will be on the varied aspects and manifold forms of painting and sculpture.

The exhibition at Investkredit is being held as an accompaniment to the exhibition “Happy Birthday Monsignore!" (Cathedral and Diocesan Museum Vienna, 14 February through 2 June 2007). In honour or the 100th birthday of Otto Mauer, the most important patron of modern art in Austria, the Cathedral and Diocesan Museum is showing 100 works of “his“ artists from Otto Mauer's collection: works of those artists that he supported, through the gallery that he founded and ran next door to St. Stephan's Cathedral.

Otto Mauer Prize: Alfred Klinkan (1981), Gottfried Mairwöger (1982), Lois Renner (1992), Tobias Pils (1994), Maria Hahnenkamp (1995), Otto Zitko (1996), Gregor Zivic (1998), Manfred Erjautz (1999), Florian Pumhösl (2000), Michael Kienzer (2001), Dorit Margreiter (2002), Simon Wachsmuth (2003), Esther Stocker (2004), Jun Yang (2005) und Bernhard Fruehwirth (2006). The intention is to document the history of the influence of Otto Mauer's initiatives. Some of the works belong to the Cathedral Museum's Otto Mauer Collection and Investkredit's art collection.
